D&C 122:7-8

And if thou shouldst be cast into the apit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the bdeep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to chedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of dhell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give theeeexperience, and shall be for thy good.
The aSon of Man hath bdescended below them all. Art thou greater than he?
Debbie Medina:
" I feel like this is the Lord's way of saying " Toughin' up Buttercup " I don't know of any trail I've gone through that I didn't learn something from it. Even if it is to be an inspiration to others. Our Savior has experienced all and he knows what we are going through. He is our advocate to the Father. It is wonderful to know that he knows what we are going through. Which reminds me of another great scripture in Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust , and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. The phrase where is says " I will trust " is something I need to remind myself to do."
Amanda Brock
I like how it says "shall be for thy good" I think that Heavenly Father gives us trials so that we have the opportunity to grow and become stronger. Not everything is just going to be given to us. We have to work for things. Heavenly Father is teaching us this lesson here. If we work at it and get through it, we are strengthened and that is a wonderful blessing. Heavenly Father loves us enough that he would send us trials to help us become better and stronger.

John 15:13-15

13 Greater alove hath no man than this, that a man lay down hisblife for his cfriends.
14 Ye are my afriends, if ye do whatsoever I bcommand you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you afriends; for all things that I have bheard of my Father I have made cknown unto you.
Daniel Rowley
" I like this scriptures because on my mission, my Mission President was helping me through a difficult time. I felt alone and felt that no one cared about me at all. My Mission President opened to this scripture and gave me words of love and hope. It's been a great help. We are His friends and He loves us more than we know."
Amanda Brock
I like this because we all crave friendship. We all want someone to care about us. Luckily, there will always be at least two people who love us so very much. Heavenly Father and the Savior both love us so much. I am thankful for this because when I do feel alone or that no one can understand what I am going through, they know. The Savior particularly knows exactly what we are feeling and going through because He felt it.

Alma 30:44

44 But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of aall these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the bearth, and call things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its dmotion, yea, and also all theeplanets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.

Amelia White:

"I love how bold Alma is, he is talking to Korihor saying why do you tempt God, asking him for signs that you can see you for yourself. Everything denotes there is a God, this is so true! The beautiful mountains, the amazing sunrises and sunsets all prove to me of a greater power. Even our bodies are witnesses that God exists and that He is the Supreme Creator, our bodies are amazing and how every muscle, bone, tendon, etc. work perfectly together for our needs! I am so grateful for this knowledge that we do have a loving Heavenly Father who has created this beautiful world for us to enjoy!"

Amanda Brock

I agree with Amelia, every time I sit in Biomed or another class and the professor is discussing something and somehow it comes up that its just not something that we know. It is just too complex for us to understand. I think of our Heavenly Father. He knows everything. He created everything. I think he made things so complex so that we can struggle and study. We can keep moving forward learning and growing. I am thankful for that as well.

Philippians 4:13

13 I can do all things through aChrist which bstrengtheneth me.

Hallie Caldwell

"One important reason this is a favorite scripture is because its simple and short. There are some beautiful and wonderful series of scripture verses out there but for them to help me, they need to be short enough to pop in my head when I need them. This is just one sentence but to me it makes all the difference and opens many doors. Doing All things through Christ not only applies to commandments but trials, discouragement and changes in attitude. No matter what, if we put our faith in Him there is always a way. Sometimes that means we need to change or do something different, but we can do it if we let Him help."

Amanda Brock

I feel like this scripture is a part of many other long and wordy scriptures. I like this one as well though because it is straight to the point. Its very simple. You do this, and this happens. So why do we sometimes not listen to this? Why would we not do this if its just so simply stated? I think that this gospel can be simple. But, because we are not simple human beings and we are not perfect, its hard to make a simple gospel. There is a lot of complex ideas and thoughts behind this verse. There are may ways that this verse can affect you. So im going to bring this out to everyone, what does this verse mean to you?

D&C 121:45-46

45 Let thy abowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let bvirtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy cconfidence wax strong in the dpresenceof God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the edews from heaven.

Eric Petersen

"It talks about if we keep our thoughts virtuous and if we serve others then our confidence will come from God.
On top of that it talks about our eternal blessings and abilities to control that which is around us.
We as humans just want to be able to control our circumstances and outcomes. In all the other kingdoms of glory, we will still be controlled in some sort either by the limitations that we can do in the long term or what have you - but if we keep the commandments, which are related to the above thoughts, then we will control our destinies in the celestial kingdom."

Isaiah 40:31

31 But they that await upon the Lord shall brenew their cstrength; they shall mount up with wings as deagles; they shall erun, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Kenny James:

One, there is a literal interpretation of this scripture: Those that trust in the Lord, and live by that trust, will one day live with Him in heaven. We will have eternal bodies that do not tire, and will never grow faint.
Two, one can also look at it as one another gracious blessing for our earthly existence. If one trusts in the lord, blessings can follow. Their strength will be renewed, or strengthened.

Amanda Brock

I agree with Kenny, if we trust on our Heavenly Father than we will be strengthened to get through all of the things in this world. We will have the strength to not only endure trials but also to do many things of service and even things of joy. Heavenly Father will always want the best for us because he loves us. If we show our love to Him, then he will do the same.

Alma 36:17-21

17 And it came to pass that as I was thus aracked with torment, while I was bharrowed up by the cmemory of my many sins, behold, I dremembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world.
18 Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, ahave mercy on me, who ambin the cgall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting dchains of edeath.
19 And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember myapains bno more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more.
20 And oh, what ajoy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!
21 Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy.
Kirsten Koldewyn:
"We still remember our mistakes, but they no longer cause us pain when we feel we have been forgiven."
Amanda Brock:
I love scriptures referring to the Atonement and to Repentance because none of us here on earth are perfect. All of us have been through trials and temptations and sometimes we have given in. But, we have the Atoning sacrifice of the Savior to forgive us of our sins. Because we repent and go through the repentance process, Heavenly Father and the Savior "forget" our sins. They do not count any longer. This is extremely powerful. This is the way that we are going to be able to be saved.

D&C 121:7-9

My son, apeace be unto thy soul; thine badversity and thine afflictions shall be but a csmall moment;
And then, if thou aendure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy bfoes.
Thy afriends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands.
Natalie Behl:
"It's always a good reminder that although we all have our fair share of trials and such, there's always something to look forward. We all get to experience high highs and low lows.. it's part of the journey. The hard times are only a small part of the joys we will and have experienced. The important part is to keep Heavenly Father in our lives at all times- through the good and the bad, and He will bless us for it.
I heard a quote once that said friends are family we get to choose. Our true friends are our support and guidance. They have 'warm heads and friendly hands' that we can always turn to. I love reading about friends in the scriptures  Family is talked about a lot but friends- not so much. It's part of why I love these verses so much."

Amanda Brock:
This scripture is meaningful to me because it shows again that our trials and adversity is only for a time and that if we endure through it, we can triumph over it. We have friends and family there to support and to help us.

Alma 36:17-26

Josh McDonald:

"Alma 36:17-26 has always been one of my favorites. My conversion and the whole reason for me going on a mission are outlined perfectly by Alma in those verses"

Amanda Brock

I really like these verses because it really expresses the whole conversion in a few verses. These verses are really powerful. They talk about repentance, the Holy Ghost, and moving from darkness and bitterness to joy and happiness.

Mosiah 2:41

41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and ahappy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are bblessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out cfaithful to the end they are received into dheaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

Camrey Bagley:

"I love mosiah 2:41 because it tells us that if we keep the commandments we will be happy! I love how simple it is."

Amanda Brock

I like this scripture because it shows that if we keep the commandments that we can be happy. We will also be blessed.
